Data services are a new and growing field of library services. REDCap offers a practical way to get involved in this field. REDCap is a web-based application for building and managing online surveys, forms, and databases used by over 2,500 educational institutions and hospitals. By learning REDCap, you will be able to serve medical and research communities by teaching them how to use REDCap and have a tool you can use yourself to collect data. You do not need technical knowledge to use REDCap, and it is free to many institutions. This webinar explains what REDCap is, offers an introductory demonstration on how to use it, explores ways that librarians can use it in their libraries, and offers examples of how librarians have used REDCap instruction to serve their broader medical center communities.
Participants of this webinar will be able to:
- explain what REDCap is
- construct a data collection form
- identify data collection opportunities within their libraries
- summarize opportunities for data services education using REDCap
All health information professionals, particularly those working in data services and serving communities conducting clinical research. No experience or knowledge required.
