NNLM Region 6 Speaker Spotlight: NExT Steps: A Unique Nurse Librarian EBP Collaboration
Since 2001, the University of Illinois at Chicago’s (UIC) Library of the Health Sciences and College of Nursing have conducted evidence-based practice (EBP) nursing education programs. Officially renamed Nursing Experts: Translating the Evidence (NExT) in 2014, the programs have expanded and built upon each other. Led by UIC, NExT’s strength comes from connections between librarians and nurses at multiple institutions. The programs’ goals are providing equal access to biomedical information to all U.S. health professionals and encouraging the use of scientific evidence to guide healthcare decision-making.
