The Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) is MLA's peer-reviewed professional development and career recognition program. 

MEDLIB-ED supports the MLA Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) credential. The Academy is the certification and career development program for medical librarians and other health information professionals. Membership in the Academy:

  • shows employers and colleagues that you meet standards of professional education, experience, and accomplishment
  • demonstrates your commitment to career development
  • supports you in setting and reaching your career goals

The Academy is open to all health information professionals, MLA members and nonmembers both, at any career stage from any country.

To join the Academy, you must be employed or seeking employment in a health information field and possess:

  • a master’s degree from an American Library Association-accredited program
  • or a master’s degree in any field with documentation of required coursework in the health information field.

Join a select group of individuals who have made the commitment to excellence in health information, career advancement, and the ongoing pursuit of knowledge!
