Expand Your Research Impact Services (Recording)
Research impact services are in-demand. If you are considering expanding your library bibliometric services, this webinar will show you how to make clear, informed plans to move forward. You’ll learn how you can use role descriptions--educator, data manager, analyst, and strategist--to anchor your plans, especially plans for staff development. You’ll learn about the knowledge and skills needed to provide services in each role, resources available for gaining those skills, and examples of how these skills are applied in real-world scenarios.

Presenters
Chris Belter is a data scientist at the NIH Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), where he is the lead for analytics and assessment in the Institute’s division of extramural activities. At NICHD he provides expert advice and analytical services to inform evaluation and strategic planning activities for NICHD’s funding programs. Prior to joining NICHD, he co-created and co-led bibliometric service programs at the NIH Library and the NOAA Central Library. Chris has an MLS from the University of Maryland and a BA in Religion from Shenandoah University.
Karen Gutzman, MSLS, MA, serves as the Head of the Research Assessment and Communications Department at Galter Health Sciences Library & Learning Center at Northwestern University where she develops, supports, and implements programs that increase awareness about digital scholarship and issues in the digital environment among faculty, researchers, and students at Feinberg School of Medicine. Karen also leads the library’s Metrics and Impact Core where she where she supports individuals and groups in their understanding, assessment, visualization, and reporting of impactful outcomes of research and clinical care efforts.
Tyler Nix, MSLS, is an informationist at the University of Michigan Taubman Health 
Sciences Library and co-leads the Taubman Research Impact Core. In this role, he partners with health sciences faculty, staff, and students in projects related to tracking and communicating the impact of research outputs. Prior to joining Taubman, he was an Associate Fellow at the National Library of Medicine, and has previous library experience at Frontier Nursing University, the University of Kentucky and the University of Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Kentucky in 2015.
Amy Suiter, MS, MLS, is a Research Support Librarian at Bernard Becker Medical Library at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She supports faculty, staff and students in the areas of research impact and scholarly communication. Prior to her career in librarianship, Amy was a microbiologist for a medical device company focused on infection prevention. She is a podcast enthusiast and welcomes any recommendations for new podcasts to explore.
