Assessment of teaching activities is familiar to most librarians, but how to evaluate large-scope libraries’ services, programs, or initiatives may be more abstract and unclear. This webinar will provide a step-by-step process for selecting an evaluation type, focusing the research question, planning an evaluation, data collection methods, and writing an evaluation report. Audience
This session is for all levels and areas of librarianship, from directors to cataloguers. Anyone planning to evaluate a service or process will benefit. No prior skills or experience is necessary.
Presenter
Shanda Hunt has been the Public Health Library Liaison & Data Curation Specialist at the University of Minnesota (UMN) for the last five years. Prior to that, she was a research coordinator in the Division of Epidemiology & Community Health and the Program in Human Sexuality where she co-created, implemented, and managed research studies on alcohol policy and refugee sexual health. Shanda is knowledgeable in public health program evaluation and has applied that to her work in large-scale initiatives in libraries. She also teaches program evaluation to her colleagues.
