Augusta University’s Research Data Management Symposium*

Greenblatt Library at Augusta University will partner with the University’s Vice-President for Research, Biostatistics, IT, Cancer Center, and Center for Nursing Research to host a day-long research data management symposium. The symposium will provide education on key topic areas of research data management to university health professionals, librarians, basic science researchers, research coordinators and research administrators. National and local speakers will be invited and the format will include breakout sessions, a panel discussion, and displaying National Library of Medicine data science resources. The agenda includes sessions on data management trends, data visualization, data storage and security, data and publishing, data sharing, and data repositories for research reproducibility.

  • Participants will complete an initial inventory of their data
  • Participants will reflect on and describe their data management challenges
  • Attendees will discover current trends and issues for research data publication
  • Participants will understand best practices for organizing, describing, and sharing their data
  • Participants will identify three next steps to take to improve their data management practices
