One Health: Information Resources*

Participants will be introduced to free health information resources on One Health from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, the Department of Human Health Services, and more. Find One Health informational resources and learn about One Health, and how animals, insects, and the environment are interconnected with the health of people.

This presentation will introduce the participant to health information resources on One Health from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and from the Department of Human Health Services (the NIH and the CDC), and more.

The overall goal of this course is to help participants find free information resources on One Health, zoonotic and vector-borne disease, as well as pet ownership (benefits and risks) and also disaster preparedness resources for their pets.  

Learnning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Define One Health, Zoonotic & Vector-Borne Diseases (ZVBD)
  • Discuss how animals, insects and ticks affect human health: Benefits & Risks
  • Recognize NLM, NIH and HHS resources
  • Identify resources for: prevention of ZVB Diseases, disaster resources for pets
